Sarasota Music Half Marathon Training Program

Join the tens of thousands of people who challenge themselves every year to the fastest growing distance race in the country – the half marathon.

This terrific 13.1 mile distance is challenging and yet achievable.

Fleet Feet is excited to offer a training program for ALL fitness levels!

Our Fleet Feet training program targets runners, interval runners and walkers and our exceptional coaching staff will lead you throughout the training.

Pace groups, speedwork, and a set training plan will enable anyone who can currently run or walk 3 miles to finish their first half marathon or improve over previous performances.

Program Dates 

November 5th, 2016-February 5th, 2017

The 14-Week Program features include:

  • 2 weekly group training runs

Tuesdays at 6pm: This workout will focus on improving efficiency and biomechanics while teaching you more about your pace and maintaining it.

Saturdays at 7am: This will be your highest mileage of the week.

Please Note: The time on Saturday may change slightly when the mileage increases.

  • Educational clinics on topics such as proper nutrition, choosing the right gear, and avoiding injury
  • Technical training shirt
  • Fleet Feet Sarasota in-store discounts
  • Set pace coaches for the following race goal times:
Sub finish time of 1 hour and :45 minutes
Sub finish time of 2:00 hours
Sub 2 hours and :15 minutes
Sub 2 hours and 30 minutes
Sub 2 hours and :45 minutes
2 hours and :45 minutes and above
2:1 walk/run intervals
1:1 walk/run intervals
Walkers
*These coaches will pace you during the training runs and during the actual race.

Please note: Participants must be comfortable running/walking a 5K (3.1 miles) OR able to briskly run/walk 3 miles in a :45 minute timeframe to begin the training session
